Research
We publish concise research notes on the markets and themes that inform our portfolio, from digital infrastructure in Asia to industrial policy in Europe. Each note presents our view as at its date, together with its sources.
- Infrastructure
China's infrastructure investment: lower in aggregate, more concentrated by sector
Overall infrastructure investment in China fell 4.0% in the first eight months of 2026, while grids, energy storage, information networks and civil aviation grew. We regard the theme as a set of regulated, plan-backed segments.
- Digital infrastructure
India's data-centre expansion and its supply chain
India's data-centre capacity is forecast to rise from 1.6 GW to 6 GW by 2029. In our view, the clearest exposure lies with the suppliers of power, cooling, electrical equipment and precision components.
- Portfolio construction
Low correlation between Indian and Chinese equities
Over five years, Indian and Chinese equities moved almost independently, with a correlation of 0.07 in US-dollar terms. Holding both broadens the sources of growth in a portfolio.
